Shirley Heights on Sunday evenings draws locals and visitors alike for barbecue, steel drum music, and a panoramic view over English Harbour that is worth the trip on its own. Nelson's Dockyard, one of the only remaining Georgian-era naval dockyards in the world, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On Friday evenings the Copper & Lumber Store Hotel hosts Seafood Fridays — an open-air gathering of food, music, and local life that captures the spirit of the island better than any resort can. A full-day catamaran excursion with a buffet and open bar is the classic Antigua day out, and for good reason — the water is extraordinary.

Rob's Steakhouse at Hammock Cove, the boutique adults-only property overlooking the northeast coast, is worth an evening out even if you are not staying there.

A Note on Barbuda

Antigua's sister island, Barbuda, sits about 30 minutes away by ferry or a quick flight. It's quieter and more remote, known for pink sand beaches and the frigate bird sanctuary at Codrington Lagoon — a natural fit for a day trip or an extra night if it fits your plans.
